Facility Expansion and Renovation
Although capital maintenance is performed annually, we believed that a renovation and small addition to our existing structure was necessary in order to meet increasing demand of our facility. In the fall of 2019 we opened our doors as a revitalized and expanded center. This page reflects the extent of the project, while also giving you a sense of the incredible center that will await you and your partners. PROJECT BACKGROUND
The Seaside Civic and Convention Center (SCCC) received approval from the Seaside City Council in August, 2016 to move forward with work to renovate and expand the current center. This followed years of research and development to study the most effective and efficient way to expand a center that had not received significant updating since the early 1990s.
In March of 2017, the SCCC hired Klosh Group, LLC to serve as the project manager for the now approved $15 million project. A short time later, the SCCC selected Portland-based Holst Architecture and Convergence Design of Kansas City for the contract to design a planned renovation and expansion of this 45-year-old facility. After a schematic design phase throughout the summer months, the following renderings and layout plans represent the most comprehensive design set to date.
In the fall of 2017, the Center added O’Brien and Company Construction to the project team. Holst, Convergence, O’Brien and staff continued to work hand-in-hand with final design elements throughout the winter months, and construction began on the nearly $15 million project in May of 2018. The project reached major completion in the fall of 2019
